TROOP 708
COLUMBIA, MISSOURI
Summer Camp
Troop 708's summer camp is at Camp Eastman, an ideal place for young people to learn the skills needed for leadership and good citizenship as they grow into contributing members of our society.

Camp Eastman is located just off IL 96 (The River Road) 7.5 miles south of Nauvoo, IL or 5.5 miles north of Hamilton, IL. It is the property of the Mississippi Valley Council.
Summer Camp revolves around Merit Badge classes, in a place where scouts will have the opportunity to experience activities they never could otherwise, from the shotgun range, to the large, well-maintained swimming pool, to the various waterways situated near the camp where scouts can learn to maneuver a small boat. The accomplished and daring scouts in this area have access to the nearby raging Father of Waters where they can really test their skills.
Along with the recreation and wildlife opportunities that only the Mississippi brings, there are other environments that appeal to anyone wishing to study wetlands, aquatic, hardwood forests and river bluff habitats. You will find that the 11 campsites are within a few minutes of all the program activities including the trading post and dining hall.
In addition to all the various merit badge opportunities, scouts also have a chance to enjoy camp life, with giant chess and Connect Four, a well-stocked Trading Post, and the scout-favorite Gaga ball pit. In addition, there are troop pool parties and large campfires full of fun skits and ceremonies.
Eastman also boasts an honor society known as the Tribe of the Silver Tomahawk for scouts camping for their third time at Eastman and who have earned the Camping merit badge. Read about the tribe's story here.
Camp Eastman is proven by design and tradition to be an ideal place for young people to learn the skills needed for leadership and good citizenship as they grow into contributing members of our society.
